Is Curae a credit card?
No, it is not a credit card. Curae is a line of credit offered by an experienced direct lender, to help you reduce the stress of medical/ healthcare bills.
Does applying affect my credit score?
Applying for Curae is considered a soft inquiry and won’t impact your credit rating or score. Once you accept an offer, Curae will list it as a credit account with the date opened and credit limits. Once you transact, there will be an active balance, and your payment history will be tracked.
Do I have to pay anything now out-of-pocket?
No, there is no down payment to open a Curae account. Once you have processed your charge with Curae, you will be able to get set up to make your low monthly minimum payments via the Curae Account Center.
How long are monthly payments for?
If approved, you will select an offer that best fits your budget. Offers range from 24-months up to 48-months.
Can I pay off my CUR account early?
Yes!
Is there interest?
Each patient is presented with two offers. One will be a shorter-term interest free option, and the second will be a longer-term interest-bearing option. It is up to the patient to decide what works best for them.
How much available credit will I get?
This depends on each applicant and how they are decisioned.
Can I use Curae anywhere?
You are only able to use your Curae account for this organization.
Can I re-use my account for any other bills I have with this organization in the future?
Yes, you can, if you have available credit to use in your account.
Can I use my account for my family?
Yes, you can use Curae to pay for a family member if they approve. This option is on the “Apply Charges” page.
How long does it take before I know if I am approved?
You will receive an instant decision upon your application submission.
Can I use my line of credit right after approval or do I need to wait for my card to come in?
You can process your healthcare expense immediately to be set up. Your card is for reference only. All charges are processed digitally.
If my estimate is incorrect and I end up overpaying, can I get refunded?
A staff member will refund your Curae account so you do not owe as much, which will also reduce your monthly payments.
Can I change my Curae account terms if I need lower payments?
You can contact the Curae Account Center to escalate the need for an alternative payment arrangement
