UHS Primary Care Sidney's 'Dr. Jay' recognized as Citizen of the Year

The Sidney Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Rohan Jayasena, MD, (Dr. Jay) for his commitment to the community as the 2023 Citizen of the Year. 

Dr. Jay works at UHS Primary Care Sidney and is considered one of the backbones of the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Care practice in Sidney. 

Those who have ever had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Jay recognize right away why he is so loved by patients and staff.  His positive and caring attitude is appreciated by both his youngest patients and the oldest of parents.  His smile and continuous good-natured demeanor help make him one of the most popular providers in the area.  His generosity to the community and his constant involvement in local events also makes him the perfect choice for a Citizen of the year. 

You can ask any of his patients and they will tell you that Dr. Jay is equal parts doctor and friend!

In late May Dr. Jay was honored by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce as the Citizen of the Year at the annual awards dinner.  Also honored at the event was Waste Recovery Enterprises, as Business of the Year, Kyle Westcott for Commitment to Community and Andy Matviak for Years of Service/Retirement
