UHS PrEP represents Team UHS at annual Pride Palooza
The 19th annual Pride Palooza was held on Saturday, June 8, at Otsiningo Park. The UHS PrEP Program was once again a top sponsor for the event celebrating Pride Month. The UHS PrEP, HIV and Hep C program teams tabled at the event, offering a wide range of information for those attending, including providing education, care information, and access, and of course swag.
Pride Palooza is hosted by the Binghamton Pride Coalition, an organization of LGBTQ+ individuals, groups and allies that was established in 2005. The Coalition works to end discrimination based on sexuality and gender identity, promote pride and visibility, and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer lives, communities and cultures in the greater Binghamton area.
Pride Palooza is a family-friendly event where everyone can come and be who they are without any judgment. The event hosted 70 vendors this year including games, entertainment, face painting, a talent show and food vendors. Organizers say it was a record attendance to mark their 19th year!
