UHS Ideal becomes 5-star senior living facility
UHS Senior Living at Ideal has achieved the rank of a five-star skilled nursing facility, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The federal agency’s “Care Compare Five-Star Ratings” for July 2023 gave UHS Ideal five stars in the categories of quality measures and overall quality, and four stars each for health inspection and staffing.
“This is a significant accomplishment, as it is a comparison of UHS Ideal to other nursing homes across the state and nation,” said James Shadduck, administrator of UHS Ideal. “Our team is to be congratulated, as our whole staff has done an excellent job to get to this goal.”
Staffing is steadily increasing at our campus, thanks to a very successful recruitment effort, enabling UHS Ideal to achieve higher scores, Mr. Shadduck said.
Located on High Avenue in Endicott, UHS Ideal is a full-service senior living campus, featuring a 150-bed skilled nursing facility with 28 short-term rehabilitation private rooms, a 35-unit assisted living program, a 20-unit independent living apartment complex and a 35-bed assisted care option. Our facility records 35 to 45 admissions and discharges per month, with patients returning to our community from our busy short-term rehab unit.
CMS created its rating system to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. The website cms.gov gives each skilled nursing facility nationwide scores of between one and five in several categories.
