UHS Delaware Valley Hospital to Offer Limited Fair Services
Regrettably, due to the uptick in COVID cases in our county and surrounding counties, we, at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, have made the difficult decision to not staff the fair booth this year. Given our small staff, we felt we do not want to put them in a position where they may, more easily, be exposed to COVID-19 because of the close interactions they would be having with people at the fair. By being abundantly cautious, we hope to ensure, that should a greater surge of cases occur, our staff will be available and ready and able to care for our neighbors.
So sadly, the baby contest will not take place. Everyone who has entered will receive a certificate of participation within a few weeks. The Hand Washing Challenge has also been cancelled.
We will be offering COVID-19 vaccines, as promised, but, most likely, the times will be somewhat limited. They will be posted at the fair booth. We feel we can do this as staff wears additional protective gear: eye protection and gloves, in addition to their masks.
We were also honoring our healthcare heroes at the booth this year. You will see a banner with many of the DVH staff from all departments. If you wanted to write a note to a healthcare hero, please feel free to do so on one of the cards that will be at the booth. Leave in the box if your hero is from a UHS facility, or feel free to send your card to a hero at another facility.
Thanks to everyone who sent in baby pictures- we truly appreciate your interest and support and we hope to see you all again in 2022!
