Tim O'Meara is the newest Sunshine Award winner!

A program to recognize the extraordinary care and contributions of our non-licensed nursing support staff continues at UHS with Tim O'Meara, NA, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, Medical Surgical Unit, being named the September winner of the Sunshine Program Award! Tim was recognized and presented with the Sunshine Award and sunflowers for his achievement and enjoyed cookies as part of the celebration.

The Med Surg nursing assistant was nominated by a colleague. The colleague spoke about how Tim embodies every single UHS Value every day, making him a phenomenal co-worker to work alongside. The letter explains how you can tell how much Tim really cares about his patients based on how he interacts with them. Tim is always willing to help and keeps his word, no matter how demanding his workload is. In the letter, he is described as a team player whose calm demeanor provides calmness in any stressful situation. 

"I respect his work ethic because he’s honest. You never have to guess where he stands. He is assertive and tactful. His banter and humor make him easy to get along with. It’s very hard not to like working with him," said the nominating letter. "On shifts, you know tasks are going to get done and they are going to get done the right way. When he talks, he’s listened to because of his open communication skills. He also chooses grace even with the toughest personality traits."

Thank you to Tim for displaying such Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork and Innovation to co-workers, a stellar example of our team living "The UHS Way!"

Patients, families, and colleagues are able to nominate any of our non-licensed support staff based on our UHS Values of Respect, Teamwork, Innovation, Trust, and especially Compassion. All nominees will be recognized, but each month, one nominee will be selected for a special recognition.
