State-of-the-art playground constructed at UHS Child Care

If you have driven by the UHS Child Care Center recently, you probably noticed the vibrant playground that has been built outside the facility.

The state-of-the-art playground, made possible with support from the UHS Foundation, is part of the center's educational curriculum that is one of the most highly-rated nationwide. UHS’ partner in the operation of the center, Bright Horizons, carefully constructed each section of the playground to inspire movement and exercise, while encouraging children to take an interest in nature and explore their environment.

One of the most unique features of the playground is that all classrooms – from infancy through pre-kindergarten -- have separate entrances to their individual play areas, which cater to the skills of each age group.

The center, located at 619 Main St., Johnson City, is set to open in the coming weeks.
