Second annual UHS Cancer Survivors Day Picnic a success
UHS Oncology held its second annual UHS Cancer Survivors Day Picnic at Otsiningo Park this past Saturday, June 1, in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day.
More than 80 current and former oncology patients of UHS and the community attended the event. Attendees were treated to a picnic lunch prepared by UHS Food and Nutrition and ice cream from the Cone Connection.
Along with the delicious food, the event had face painting by King Creations, a Tai Chi demonstration by Bethlehem Emmons-Post, UHS Trauma Services and Injury Prevention and pet therapy from Therapy Dogs 607.
Cancer Survivors were also encouraged to paint pavers for the Hope Garden outside of UHS Wilson Medical Center.
