PHOTOS: UHS Child Care learning environments taking shape
With 2024 here, UHS is closer than ever to opening the doors of our innovative child care center. Our curriculum at UHS Child Care will deliver an unparalleled experience for children and families. UHS’ partner in the operation of the center, Bright Horizons, will offer an educational program that is one of the most highly rated nationwide.
At the time of its opening, all children -- from infancy through pre-kindergarten-age -- will benefit from structured, age-appropriate exploration, discovery and active learning. The center will eventually be open to school-age children during breaks from school as well, including spring, summer and winter breaks.
Photos captured during a January 16 walkthrough show a pre-school classroom and the center's library, equipped with age-appropriate books and furnishings, as well as cozy seating. The library also features a simulated X-ray station, where children can dress up like doctors and technicians during playtime to get an introduction to the medical field.
Our facility at 619 Main St. in Johnson City will be opening to UHS employees and community families in the coming months. The center will operate year-round from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
