PHOTOS: Crowd entertained by stories from Darren Clarke at the UHS Golf Expo
A crowd of people listened intently as golf legend Darren Clarke told stories about his legendary golf career during the UHS Golf Expo which took place Wednesday, June 21 at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
Mr.Clarke was able to chat with SiriusXM host Dave Marr on the 18th green about his long storied career, including his world and open championships. Clarke touched on growing up in Northern Ireland, playing on both the European and PGA Tours and how much he enjoys coming to Endicott to play at En-Joie.
Mr. Clarke’s biggest victory came when he emerged victorious at the 2011 Open Championship at Royal St. George’s in England, his first major win after more than 20 years and 54 attempts. He has also won two World Golf Championship events, most notably the 2000 match play, when he defeated Tiger Woods in the final.
Clarke's presentation came after several service providers from UHS provided a variety of displays on how to keep healthy and show what UHS has to offer the community. This included taking blood pressure, skin cancer screenings, signing attendees up for UHS MyChart and answering plenty of questions about our care and services.
Next up? UHS will join with the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open to host a Family Fun Night at En-Joie, on Saturday, June 24. On that date, a popular animated film, “Toy Story,” will be shown starting at 8 p.m., followed right after by a fireworks display. The family friendly event is free and open to the public.
