Dr. Briscoe-Dwyer is president-elect of national pharmacy organization
Leigh Briscoe-Dwyer, PharmD, has been elected to the highest office in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She will serve for one year as president-elect of the organization, one year as president and one year as immediate past president.
Dr. Briscoe-Dwyer is System director of Pharmacy Services at UHS. She joined our healthcare system in 2021. Previously she was vice president for Clinical Services at PharMEDium of Lake Forest, Ill., and vice president for Pharmacy at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the Albany College of Pharmacy and her doctor of pharmacy degree from St. John’s University.
ASHP is a prestigious national professional organization representing pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in hospitals, healthcare systems, ambulatory clinics and other health settings.
The organization's 60,000 members include pharmacists, student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. It is the largest association of pharmacy professionals in the United States.

In addition, the society advocates to government agencies, such as the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on public policy issues related to medication use and public health to further the vision that medication use will be optimal, safe and effective for all people all of the time.
