Wear Red for Women’s Heart Health on Feb. 7

January 30, 2025

Get ready to see red all over UHS on Friday, Feb. 7, as we celebrate National Wear Red Day. In partnership with the American Heart Association and the national Go Red for Women organization, we’re raising awareness about heart disease in women on this important day.

UHS staff and the public are invited to attend a special National Wear Red Day ribbon-cutting ceremony, starting at 10am, on Friday, Feb. 7, at the UHS Vestal Salanger Outpatient Center. Many members of the UHS team will appear sporting their best red attire and accessories.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Heart attack symptoms in women may differ from those in men - so awareness is vitally important.
