Vaccine leaders of UHS recognized by governor's office
The office of New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul has recognized four members of Team UHS for their leadership of the healthcare system’s instrumental role in COVID-19 vaccination in the Southern Tier.
Those recognized are John Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS; Rich Keehle, senior director of Support Services at UHS Hospitals; Tina Dolan, director of Public Policy and Program Development; and Bob Schmidt, vice president for Clinical Services.
“I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your contribution to getting nearly half a million people vaccinated,” said Carly Norton, the governor’s representative for the Southern Tier, in a letter to the team. “On behalf of the governor and myself—and the 444,786 people with at least one dose--thank you!”
Marci McCall, statewide lead for Vaccine Equity with the New York State Department of Health, added: “Thank you Rich, Robert, Tina and John for all of your incredible work these past two years and your continued work on COVID and beyond.”
The UHS leaders have stated that UHS will continue to function as the vaccine hub for the Tier, and as a vaccine resource for any care provider in the region.
“We are available to support anyone in need of vaccine,” Mr. Keehle said.
