Smoke Alert: Be aware of air quality situation  

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality advisory for many areas of the state, including Central New York/Southern Tier.   

As a result of smoke from the Canadian wildfires, the pollutant in the air of greatest concern is fine particulate matter.
