Langer is back for another UHS Health Expo!
UHS is excited to announce that two-time Masters champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer will headline the UHS Health Expo at the Dick’s Open, to be held on Wednesday, June 19, at En-Joie Golf Course, 722 Main St. in Endicott.
With a Dick’s Open win in 2014, and our headliner in 2022, Mr. Langer is familiar with the course and the area. He will speak starting between 6 and 6:30 p.m., following the Pro Am, on the 18th green, where he will be accompanied by SiriusXM host Dave Marr for a special interview and question-and-answer session.
The live talk will cap off a free, interactive, walk-through Expo for the public, featuring a variety of demonstrations, screenings and giveaways, starting at 4 p.m., under the large white tent above the 18th green.
“Mr. Langer’s visit on June 19 will be another milestone for UHS’ annual health exposition,” said John M. Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS.
“We of Team UHS are honored to have Bernhard Langer, one of the world’s greatest golfers, as the honorary host of our Expo for a second time,” Mr. Carrigg said. “Not only is he a champion athlete in every sense of the word, he is a champion in the cause of physical fitness, good nutrition and wellness for a lifetime.”
“We are excited to continue our partnership with UHS and welcome back a World Golf Hall of Fame member to this special event,” said John Karedes, executive director of the Dick’s Open. “What Mr. Langer has been able to accomplish at his age is a testament to not only his skill but to great health and wellness. This makes him a perfect fit for our event.”
The German golf pro is a two-time Masters champion and was one of the world's leading golfers throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In 1986, he became the sport's first No. 1-ranked player following the creation of the Sony Ranking (now the Official World Golf Ranking).
After turning 50, Mr. Langer established himself as the most successful player in the history of the PGA Tour Champions. He has won a record 12 senior major championships, been the money leader in a record 11 seasons and for a record seven times in a row. He has the most PGA Tour Champions career wins and is one of only two players who have achieved the career Senior Grand Slam (winning each of the five major championships at least once during one's career).
At age 66, Bernhard Langer continues to dominate the PGA Tour Champions. The highlights of his career are his two major championships. His first major win came at the 1985 Masters Tournament. In 2020 he became the oldest player in Masters history to make the tournament cut, at age 63.
Mr. Langer is one of five golfers who have won professional golf events on all six continents where golf is played. He has victories on all the premier tours, with 42 wins on the European Tour (second most all-time), three on the PGA Tour and numerous international victories, including wins on the Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour, Australasian Tour and Tour de las Américas.
The 2024 Dick’s Sporting Goods Open returns to the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, during the week of June 17 to 23, with a purse of $2.1 million; all three rounds will be broadcast on the Golf Channel. For more information on the 2024 Dick’s Open, please visit dsgopen.com.
