24/7 pharmacy to find new home on Main St., Johnson City
UHS offers wide-ranging pharmacy services for people throughout the Southern Tier, at locations convenient to your home or work. The sites are also close to the UHS hospitals and physicians’ offices you may use most often. What’s more, today’s modern pharmacy is part of the complete lineup of services designed around your lifestyle, medical needs and goals for health and wellness.
And soon UHS will be expanding pharmacy services in a new location near UHS Wilson Medical Center.
UHS’ Specialty Pharmacy and UHS Wilson Place 24/7 pharmacy will move to one convenient site, at 345 Main St. in Johnson City. The new building will include a vaccination clinic, medication packaging area for patients’ medications and drive-through prescription pickup window. It will be open 24/7/365, the only around-the-clock pharmacy in the region and the closest to UHS WMC. The Specialty Pharmacy portion of the new location will focus on patient access to unique medications for complex diseases, from cancer to multiple sclerosis and from rheumatoid arthritis to rare genetic disorders.
UHS pharmacies have what is called an open formulary, which means most commonly used medications are available, with next-day access to other items through UHS’ pharmacy wholesaler. The pharmacy typically can turn around a prescription in 30 minutes or less for patients leaving a physician appointment, those being discharged after a hospital stay or those with other acute needs.
You can be alerted that your prescription is ready by an automated phone call or, if enrolled, via notification from UHS MyChart. If you aren’t enrolled in MyChart, you can learn more here. UHS pharmacies process most insurance plans and can assist you with access to financial assistance if needed, even when you have insurance, but the cost of a medication is high.
