UHS hosts "Walk to Remember"
UHS will observe October National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month by encouraging participation in the “Walk to Remember.”
The walk will take place on Saturday, October 19 at the Vestal Rail Trail at 11:00 a.m.
The mission of the walk is to come together as a community to support each other in grieving and remembering the life, no matter how long or short it may have been.
In addition to the walk, which will start at the Coal House, tulip bulbs will be distributed. There will be rock painting and an information and resource table. Refreshments will also be available.
Many parents, family members, friends and healthcare professionals across the country will participate in “Walk to Remember” events during October.
The walk on the Rail Trail is dedicated to the babies who die each year through ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
Whether you are a bereaved parent, relative, friend or caregiver, the walk is a way of remembering a special infant. All are welcome to attend.
