ENDICOTT, New York – As a part of the 17th annual Dick’s Open, UHS will present the 2024 UHS Health Expo with Bernhard Langer on Wednesday, June 19, starting at 4 p.m., at the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott.
This year’s Expo will feature Mr. Langer, renowned PGA Tour Champions professional and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, in an interview and question-and-answer session with SiriusXM’s Dave Marr on the 18th green, starting between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., following the Pro Am.
“We of Team UHS are honored to have Bernhard Langer, one of the world's greatest golfers, as the honorary host of our Expo for a second time," said John M. Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS. "Not only is he a champion athlete in every sense of the word, he is a champion in the cause of physical fitness, good nutrition and staying active for a lifetime."
"We are excited to continue our partnership with UHS and welcome back this amazing World Golf Hall of Fame member to this very special event," said Dick’s Open Executive Director John Karedes. What Bernhard has been able to accomplish over the past four months as he has rehabbed from his torn left Achilles tendon is a testament to great health and wellness–making him a perfect fit for our event.”
Prior to Mr. Langer’s presentation, starting at 4 p.m., the public is invited to a free, interactive, walk-through exposition that will feature demonstrations, screenings and health information, in the large white tent above the 18th green.
During the Expo, UHS will present blood pressure screenings, along with mini tai chi sessions for balance improvement, featuring trauma- and injury-prevention professionals. There will be exercise demonstrations from clinical experts in sports medicine, orthopedics and physical rehabilitation on core, knee, hip and shoulder health. Samples and recipe cards for a healthy summer salad will be offered, and there will be refreshments, giveaways and drawings. Skin cancer screenings will also be offered (advance registration required at nyuhs.org).
At age 66, Bernhard Langer continues to dominate the PGA Tour Champions, winning a record 12 senior major championships, and being the money leader in a record 11 seasons and a record seven times in a row. He has the most PGA Tour Champions career wins and is one of only two players who have achieved the career Senior Grand Slam (winning each of the five major championships at least once during one's career).
The 2024 Dick’s Open returns to the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, N.Y., the week of June 17 to 23, with a purse of $2,100,000; all three rounds will be broadcast on the GOLF Channel.
