UHS Delaware Valley Hospital hosts MRI Open House
Community members and local elected officials joined UHS leaders at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital on Jan. 18 for an MRI Open House event.
The public was invited to learn about the only full-time MRI in Delaware County and how it works. The magnetic resonance imaging machine started operating at UHS DVH towards the end of 2023.
A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine uses the magnetic properties of hydrogen and its interaction with both a very strong magnetic field and radiofrequency waves to produce highly detailed, 2D and 3D images of the organs and structures of the body. The most commonly imaged body parts are: brain, spine, joints (hips, knees, ankles), abdomen, and pelvis.
"This investment in our community makes it easier for people to get high-quality scans and faster results." said Rolland “Boomer” Bojo, Jr., President and CEO, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital. "This allows our providers to make the best decisions when determining a course of treatment for specific issues or illness."
