UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital returns to visitor restrictions
Due to a rise in the COVID-19 positivity rate in Chenango County, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital is returning to visitor restrictions that previously were in place.
As of Saturday, Aug. 14, the hospital is restricting visitors within the hospital and at all of its off-site locations.
The hospital will continue to screen all patients and visitors.
In addition:
- Visiting hours are this time are 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m., 7 days a week.
- Only one healthy visitor will be allowed per patient at a time.
- Visitors will not be allowed to visit COVID-positive patients in person.
- A patient coming for a medical appointment or testing may be accompanied by no more than one healthy individual.
- Children under the age of 18 are restricted from visiting at this time.
Patients seeking care will be seen, but visitors experiencing cough, sore throat, fever or any other flu-like symptoms will not be permitted in the building.
The restricted visitor policy that has been in place in the Residential Healthcare Facility at the hospital will continue.
Leaders and staff are monitoring the COVID situation at UHS Hospitals locations to determine if and when visitation might be restricted once again at those locations.
Any changes to UHS’ visitation policies will be announced as they happen at nyuhs.org.
