UHS celebrates area’s first baby of the New Year

On the first day of the new year, Mary and Dylan Scott welcomed a daughter, the first baby born in the area on January 1, 2023. Paige Brooklyn Scott was born at UHS Wilson Medical Center at 5:18 a.m.  She was an early baby, but happy and healthy weighing 5 pounds, 4 ounces and is 20 inches long.

Because the delivery was ahead of schedule, Mary said, “I never thought she would be born on New Year’s Day.”  The due date was expected for later in January.  Baby Paige joins several members of her family who also share birthdays around the holidays including both of her grandmothers.

Paige will join her two-year-old brother Dylan Jr., who is anxiously waiting to meet her.  Both mom and baby are doing well.  The parents are elated and looking forward to a great new year with their baby and family.
