Students can sign up for MASH Camp now
Students entering ninth and 10th grade next fall will have the opportunity this summer to gain real-world experience in healthcare.
MASH Camp will be held on July 24 and 25 at UHS Wilson Medical Center.
MASH stands for Medical Academy of Science and Health.
This two-day camp is sponsored by UHS Hospitals and the Central New York Area Health Education Center.
The two organizations have partnered on this initiative for over a decade to address the mutual goal of alleviating the shortage of health professionals by encouraging young people to explore health careers.
A variety of careers will be highlighted during the two-day camp through fun, hands-on workshops for students, including lots of attention from dedicated health professionals on the UHS team.
All campers will receive hospital scrubs to wear each day at camp, breakfast and lunch, and education materials.
The camp fee is $35 per student.
Space is limited to 20 students at MASH Camp, and applications will be determined by a selection process. The deadline to apply is June 1.
Students can access the online application now by visiting the CNYAHEC website at www.cnyahec.org
