Shed your Meds on National Drug Take Back Day
Clear your cabinet and ‘Shed the Meds’ for National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 23 at the Broome County Health Department (255 Front Street, Binghamton) from 9am - 2pm.
Prescription drug misuse is a gateway to heroin use and getting unused medication out of the cabinets is the first line of defense in keeping them out of kid's hands.
This national event aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse and misuse of medications.
At the event, you'll be able to safely and discreetly dispose of your unused prescription pills and other medications. Deterra Drug Deactivation Bags and RX Lock Boxes will also be available (while supplies last) for those who need them.
Now’s your chance to get rid of your unused, unwanted or expired medications safely at this free public event.
