Save a heart: Learn CPR
Could you save a life if you had to?
Do you have the right skills - do you know where to begin?
Now's your chance to learn how to step in when someone is stricken with a heart episode, as UHS offers you the opportunity to become a true "Heartsaver."
Heartsaver CPR/AED is a video-based, instructor-led, community-level course that teaches laypersons the critical skills they need to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive.
Participants learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator.
UHS will offer this training to the public free of charge in a "Heartsaver Saturday" program on Saturday, March 3, in the Auditorium at the UHS Lewis Road Location, Airport Corporate Center, 33 Lewis Road in Binghamton.
Free parking is available at the front of the first building on the Lewis Road campus. UHS staff will greet participants at the front entrance.
Check-in will start at 8 a.m., with the class held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
No previous clinical experience is required. Participants must be at least 14 years of age.
Advance registration is required and space is limited. For registration, directions or further information, call 763-5092; you may also register online here.
