Physicians appointed at UHS Heart Institute
The UHS Heart & Vascular Institute has announced the appointment of severalphysicians to new posts within the organization.
Keyoor Patel, DO, has been named director of Echocardiography; Owais Ahmed, MD, will serve as director of Nuclear Cardiology; and Sreekanth Kondareddy, MD, has been named director of the Cardiac Care Unit.
Afzal ur Rehman, MD, PhD, vice president for Cardiovascular Services at UHS, will continue as director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory.
Dr. Patel served his residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, and his fellowship at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Dr. Ahmed was a resident at UHS Hospitals and completed fellowships at Albert Einstein Medical Center in cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Kondareddy completed his residency and fellowship at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.
Dr. Ahmed has been with UHS since 2002, while Dr. Patel and Dr. Kondareddy joined the institute in 2016. All are board-certified in the field of cardiovascular care.
“We are very excited about the wealth of experience and special expertise that these providers bring, which will serve us well in the UHS Heart & Vascular Institute going forward,” Dr. Rehman said.
