It’s joy times two as Christmas brings twins to family
The community’s first Dec. 25 babies were born at UHS when parents William and Patricia welcomed twin sons William and Reign on Christmas morning.
The twins were born at UHS Wilson Medical Center, with William arriving at 3:05 a.m., at 19 inches long and weighing 5.6 pounds, and Reign born at 3:06, with a length of 20 inches and a weight of 6.55 pounds.
Both infants have been discharged to their home and are doing fine.
Team UHS came together with caring and enthusiasm for the twins’ birth, demonstrating UHS’ culture of Engagement and particularly our Values of Compassion and Teamwork.
The holidays symbolize many different things for many people–extra time spent with family and friends, delicious feasts and, of course, a few extra days off from work.
But for hospitals, there’s no shutting down, no half-day closing and no holiday hours, which means some staff work over the holidays. UHS salutes all of its employees and providers who are on the scene and providing care during holiday hours.
UHS congratulates the parents on their new bundles of joy. Christmas babies always make the holidays bright for our Maternity staff. But with the twins’ arrival this year, there was twice as much holiday cheer at UHS when the newborns were brought into this world under the care of dedicated staff.
