Health Organizations Urge COVID Caution at Thanksgiving
With the holiday season upon us, UHS and Lourdes would like to remind everyone that the spread of COVID-19 remains high. It is important that we all remain vigilant and continue to take precautions to stop the spread of the virus.
Our regional hospitals and healthcare organizations continue to fight the pandemic every day. A number of those suffering with the virus are hospitalized, emergency rooms are struggling to cope with high patient demand, and staffing remains a challenge. We are asking the public’s help to be mindful of situations with too many people gathering in a closed area by respecting the health and well-being of those with whom we come in contact. This means getting vaccinated, washing our hands frequently, and wearing a mask when with other people. We will all be helping to overcome the pandemic.
When seeking care, please consider using the hospitals’ virtual walk-in services for routine medical needs, even on holidays like Thanksgiving day. Virtual walk-in is a convenient service that you can access from your computer in the comfort of your own home.
You can start a virtual visit by going to getlourdescare.com or nyuhs.org/virtual.
Remember, in the event of an emergency, call 911, and never delay seeking emergency care.
