Career Day Camp returns to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital
On August 15 and 16, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital hosted 17 local students for the return of Career Day Camp. The summer program allowed the students to explore career options in healthcare with hands-on and experiential learning across a number of hospital departments.
The two-day program was organized by Becky Yacano, respiratory specialist, and Brian Day, volunteer coordinator, to share experiences and excitement about healthcare with the students.
Throughout the program, students visited every department in the hospital and took part in hands-on exercises and procedures designed specifically to show the potential for future job opportunities in healthcare.
The program's goal is to build interest and share the opportunities available in healthcare. Students left at the end of the camp with many unique experiences and memories. Many students expressed their interest in healthcare and plan to explore it as a profession.
Thank you to the staff who took the time to influence these future healthcare professionals!
