Annika to headline UHS’ Golf Expo
World Golf Hall-of-Famer and LPGA Tour professional Annika Sörenstam will conduct the annual seminar of golf, fitness and health tips this summer at the 2018 UHS Golf Expo. Regarded as one of the top Ladies’ Professional Golf Association players of all time, Ms. Sörenstam has recorded 72 LPGA victories, including 10 majors, in addition to 90 international triumphs. Since her 2008 retirement from the professional circuit, she has focused her energies on combining her sports expertise with her interests in fitness and charitable endeavors. This will be Ms. Sörenstam's first appearance in Endicott.
“In Annika Sörenstam, we have selected an outstanding professional golfer to conduct this year’s seminar," said John M. Carrigg, president and chief executive officer of UHS. “We’re sure that those attending our free Golf Expo in August will be impressed with what they can learn and will also have an enjoyable time throughout the evening.”
Said John Karedes, director of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open: "We are excited to have another World Golf Hall of Fame member join us. To have Annika with us for this great event hosted by our partners at UHS will be something very special for our community. She is a true class act."
The annual Golf Expo, held in connection with the Dick's Sporting Goods Open, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at En-Joie. The Golf Expo will start at 5 p.m., with Ms. Sörenstam's live seminar beginning at about 6 p.m. and featuring tips on improving golf swings and overall fitness.
Under the tent this year, UHS will provide educational materials related to urology, orthopedics, and men’s and women’s health issues. Providers and clinical experts from several specialties will be on hand for informal question-and-answer sessions at UHS’ exhibition booths. Free, heart-healthy refreshments will be available. Each attendee will receive giveaways, including a Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card, and will be able to enter prize drawings.
The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open will be held from Aug. 13 to 19 at En-Joie.
